The application must be submitted through a dedicated online service. See on-line help for instructions.

You must fill in the form with your personal data and specify the PhD programme you are applying for, namely “Security, Risk and Vulnerability”. You must also specify a curriculum.

Detailed Instructions

It is assumed that you are interested in one of the research areas of the PhD in Security, Risk and Vulnerability.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the Coordinator of the Curriculum they are interested in. In case they wish to visit the department, they can contact the PhD program coordinator, the Curriculum Coordinator, or the proposer(s) of a specific theme or scholarship.

IMPORTANT: For admission you must have a University degree at Master level or you must obtain it by 31 October 2020.

If you have a foreign degree (i.e. if you did not graduate in Italy) your application must follow an ad hoc procedure to have your degree recognized as equivalent to an Italian degree.

To complete the application you must upload a number of documents (in pdf format), including:

Each candidate may be asked to provide reference letters to support the application. Please look at the call text of the curriculum of interest as different requirements may apply.

Reference letters must not be sent by the candidate. Reference letters must be sent directly by the writer to the PhD coordinator and to the Coordinator of the Curriculum of interest.

Important notice for non local candidates

For non-local candidates (i.e. not known to the members of the PhD Board who are affiliated with the University of Genova) it is particularly important to secure reference letters from well-established researchers that can provide a reliable assessment of the candidate’s abilities.

The reference letters must be sent by the writer of the letter to the email address(es) indicated in the official announcement of the PhD positions, before the submission deadline.
